New End Mills From Iscar Can Amplify Productivity While Decreasing Costs

Producers and die & mold shops can exclude chatter problems in many milling operations with Iscar's unique Chatterfree carbide end mills. The cutters' variable-pitch flute pattern eradicates harmonic vibration, the prime source of chatter. This enables faster cutting and excellent finish in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling. In addition, users also report lasting edge life due to decreased chatter. The chatter-free feature is realizable in both solid carbide endmills and tips in Iscar's Multi-Master replaceable-tip family. Diameter range is 6 to 20mm for the solid carbide endmills, and 8 to 20mm for Multi-Master tips. These unique endmills are perfect for lower power machines with ISO40 or BT40 adaptations. The solid carbide variant can handle full slot machining up to 2xD. Depth ability on the replaceable-tip version is more moderate since the active length is shorter. In full slotting applications on alloy steel, the solid carbide fabrication surely handles 0.03-0.05 feed rates at 180-220mm/min surface speed and 2xD depth of cut.

Finishred - Unprecedented Solid Carbide Endmills

Iscar is presenting the EFR.. B44 and the MM EFS.. Finishred a advanced solid carbide end mills family. The Finishred carbide endmill is a blending of both roughing and finishing endmills in a single tool. Roughing endmills remove material from work pieces more rapidly and accurately than classical endmills. However, roughing endmills leave grooves on the machined surface. In repercussion, after using a roughing endmill, a finishing endmill needs to be used in order to attain a smooth surface finish. This involves time-consuming tool change, setup time and inevitably of maintaining two endmill types in the inventory.

Benefits of the Finishred Endmills:

The EFR.. B44 and the MM EFS.. endmills feature 4 flutes with 45 degree helix, two serrated flutes and two continuous flutes.

The cutting edges of the finishing flutes are radially more distant from the tool axis than the cutting edges of the serrated flutes. The finishing flutes abolish the grooves produced by the roughing flutes, leaving a smooth surface finish.

The tool is fully competent and facilitates running at rough machining parameters, ending in finish surface quality.

The distinguished tool design decreases vibration at high load applications.

The tool creates short and long chips concurrently. This chip mixture is evacuated more promptly than each individual chip type, an outstanding solution in slotting and cavity milling operations.

The Finishred is also obtainable with the Multi-Master indexable milling head selection which incorporates the Finishred includes with the usefulness of little setup time, no regrinding costs and the comprehensive range of shank and extension choices are obtainable for the Multi-Master milling heads.

A single tool substitutes the roughing and finishing endmills; therefore lowering stock.

Tool change and setup time can be omitted.

An additional tool position is gained on the machine

New Chip Splitting Solid Carbide Endmills for Raised Metal Removal Rates

ISCAR is establishing the ECP-3/4L family of chip splitting endmills. The unprecedented endmills are obtainable with 3 and four 38 degree flutes in grade IC900. They feature 2xD and long shanks with decreased neck diameter, which aid machining along high shoulders, at high feeds. These endmills, due to their chip splitting factor and force distribution can be used very adequately on reduced power machines (CAT40/BT40/ISO40). The serrated cutting edge incorperates flat peaks which leave a superior surface finish, in association to the current rougher carbide endmills. The ECP endmills are endorsed for machining austenitic and martensitic stainless steel, at up to 2xD depth of cut. They can be implemented on alloyed steel as well. All of the preliminary tests conducted at numerous customers' locations showed exceptional results.
